Regarding load times: There is a mod that disables the autosave during loading, which cuts it down by a lot. Which is also true for White March, I didn't like that it dragged me out of the main story to do something different. But I also felt like their quests were a waste of my time and distracted from the immediate plot too much. It's mainly the mostly missing voice acting. Started a new game after a while to play through the game without any story companion and I enjoyed it a whole lot more. I really didn't enjoy the backstories of the characters and their comments during the story. It really interesting to compare how they both do the RPG mechanics.įor me it's the other way around. I played this right after completing the shadowrun trilogy so they are both quite fresh in my mind. I don't think I would have even finished the game without my favorite companions. Looking back I can say that dismissing the custom ones I made for the story companions was a really good idea.

It puzzling to me that they would allow you to hire custom made mercenaries, when the game seems the most enjoyable with a party full of story companions. I re-spec'd at least 10 times during the campaign. Ez re-specing made me not care: if I picked up something useless and realize it later, I can just re-spec. I hate chaining myself to the cruel mistress that is min-maxing, and at first I was freaking out at what talents to pick, there are so many and you really can't make an informed decision as a new player to the game. Being able to re-spec any character of your party at any inn made the game sooo much more forgiving for someone that suffers from min-maxing anxiety. Like I said, I got sick of the game halfway tru but the combat kept me hooked. There were so many times where I wish I could pick more than one.Ĭombat was satisfying.

The dialogue choices given to the player were fucking solid IMO. I checked the wiki when playing and I'm pretty sure lying a lot gets you lots of benefits but also fucks you over sometimes. Really made picking each line have some weight to it. Even though I wanted to lie, people would talk about it, and that's fucking great as this is an RPG. After the first time and NPC remarked how I was honest, it made not choosing deceitful painful, meaningful. I liked a lot the different dialogue choices, and how they affected your rep most of all. I can't imagine how much I would have hated it without an SSD. I got sick of it halfway tru act II, and just stopped visiting random houses, and didn't even felt like doing side quests anymore.

Entering even a tiny house with 1 npc, requires the same amount of waiting as entering another district in the city. My main complaint is the loading screens. Then again, if you can justify the headliner, like Hades or Control or something big that hasn't hit a historical low of $10, the rest would be pure gravy.

I cannot see it being more than $5 a month, because there'd be 3-6 "blind" buys in their bundle.

I wonder if they'll continue the one free indie game a week, with the entire upper area in the free section the "Epic Ticket" with 1-2 free games per week to claim. Subscription makes me think they may gunning for Humble's Monthly subs, because there's been a lot of grousing from that camp since Choice became a thing. Interestingly, another item they've added under the account section (under Transactions) is a new item labeled Subscription. Yeah, that's a new feature that people were interested in. Now is the perfect time to browse and add any games you’re interested in to your Wishlist while logged in to your Epic account - you’ll receive a notification if they go on sale.
